SALINAS CRUZ
Secret Spot Mainland Mexico
This is a package for experienced hardcore surfers looking to surf the most remote, desolate, uncrowded breaks in Mainland Mexico
The base of the surf camp is located on the southern coast of Oaxaca " gulf of Tehuantepec ", in the city of Salina Cruz is unknown to most surfers, a Mexican industrial town with an oil based economy featuring a large Pemex plant, oil refinery and commercial port. around 200,000 inhabitants, there‚s only some odd 2 or 3 , surfers leaving the waves in this region relatively untapped. only 2-3 surfers in 1 spot from 12-15, the favorite activity are the festivals and to drink alcohol (OMS) not surfing or another sport.

The arid-dry lands that border the Gulf of Tehuantepec begin roughly halfway between Huatulco and Salina Cruz. This area has a very strong, dominant N to NE wind condition caused by a high pressure gradient between the Gulf of Mexico to the North and the Pacific Ocean to the south. For much of the year (typically from October to April) these winds blow in excess of 30-40 knots often for weeks on end and blow out the surf in this region. During the rainy season from May-September, the wind velocities diminish to 10-20 knots, and the wind direction is variable. After rains, the winds will sometimes die off altogether and calm will ensue.

The surf is dominated by righthand, sand bottom point breaks and jetty breaks, and a few rock reefs.

The Accommodation is perfectly located to have access to all the breaks of this area in an average of 15 – 40 minutes, with more than 12-15 different Surfing Breaks, most of them remote and relatively unknown with literally no travelers and 1-2 locals surfers only in 2 of the 12-15 Surf breaks, in the rest nobody, places virgins without persons presence, the southern Oaxaca provides the opportunity to surf in uncrowded waves surrounded with the untouched beautiful nature, the swell offer excellent conditions for surfers of any ability levels from beginners to advanced.

Salina Cruz city is located at 1,30 hours of Huatulco city.
You will be able to have the access to the Surfing breaks around of Huatulco (la jolla/ barra de la cruz rip curl wct).
